For those of you who don't watch Dr. Who (like me), this cake is TARDIS (Time and Relative Dimension in Space) -- some sort of time travel device cleverly disguised as a british police telephone booth. Ally never fails to challenge me each year with somewhat obscure birthday cake requests!
Okay...so maybe it hasn't happened yet...at least not in Joffrey Lupul's time. But this is a young boy's birthday wish, so let's go along with his optimistic vision, if only for today! GO LEAFS GO!
For my little guy's first birthday, I was inspired by some of his favourite books by Sandra Boynton:
"Moo, Baa, La La La"
"Horns to Toes and In Between"
Turkey cake pops....almost better than the real thing :o)
My first time playing with my new edible ink printer and frosting sheets!
These cupcakes were for a t-shirt company owner's birthday - featuring one of his designs
This has got to be the first of its kind -- I can't imagine many people requesting an EMV chip cake! Not sure what this is? Take a look at your credit card or debit card and see if you recognize it then!
For my sister-in-law's baby shower, the baby cupcakes made another appearance (with a bit of a twist this time). Pink and blue only, since we don't know yet if it's a boy or a girl.
I also made a mini 3-D bear holding a blanket that matched her crib sheet pattern.
Here's a Thelwell inspired cake for my horse-loving cousin's 14th birthday -- it's supposed to be a stubborn pony dumping her in a pond (thankfully she has a good sense of humour). Her favourite colour of horse is a dapple grey, with black to white gradient hair....oh sure, no problem.
To thank the committee of volunteers at work who helped organize this year's National Aboriginal Day celebration, I made this cake replicating the event poster.
Okay, so it's May, and the Leafs haven't made the playoffs in many, many years. But a Leaf cake was requested nonetheless for this diehard Phil Kessel fan's 12th birthday. Just add candles, light 'em up, and let the jokes fly.... ["the Leafs haven't been this hot since 2003", "Wow, Phil Kessel's on fire for the first time", etc]
